Meet Jody, CSG Clean Team member
As coffee makers begin to percolate, dogs get walked and your neighbor heads out to yoga, downtown Denver wakes up. At 5 a.m. every day, snow, rain and sunshine, people are hard at work preparing to welcome you. CSG Clean Team member Jody is one of those people.
Five days a week, she arrives just before 5 a.m. to collect supplies and receive the daily briefing on what’s happened in the past 24 hours and priority needs. Then, Jody heads out across Five Points Business Improvement District, Millennium Bridge, 16th Street Mall, and the Denver Theatre District /Colorado Convention Center area. Jody removes trash and graffiti, sweeps, and sanitizes the public spaces. While the tasks are the same, every day is different.
Jody has worked for CSG for close to two years. Like many cities, Denver has experienced a rise in individuals without a house, influenced by a range of contributing factors. This has forced many individuals to spend more time in public streets and spaces. As a Denver native, Jody takes great pride in keeping downtown clean and welcoming to everyone.
“I have great empathy for the people who may not have a home, who may be in a mental health crisis or battling substance abuse, " said Jody. “We work with officials to get people help.”
Prior to starting at CSG, Jody worked in customer service for a call center. This was the type of company that supported a variety of consumer brands and Jody was responsible for working with disgruntled callers. That friendly, optimistic attitude also contributes to Jody’s success in her current role as a CSG Clean Team member.
